Hi! My name is Morgan, Lead Trainer and Owner of NeonPawz K-9 Academy. I have worked with dogs for over 20 years in a wide variety of settings, and helping dogs and their people succeed has always been at the heart of what I do.
My passion for training began at a young age when my dad brought home a puppy that had been abandoned on a job site. She was an American Eskimo Dog we named Abba. He told me we could keep her as the family dog, but that I would be responsible for her training and care. I took that responsibility seriously, teaching her all the basics—sit, stay, down—as well as fun tricks like sit pretty, spin, speak, and high five. Not bad for a 16-year-old!
After graduating and moving out, I got my first personal dog, a shepherd mix named Romeo. I wanted to build on the training I had already learned and take him to the next level. I discovered a local organization that certified therapy dogs and knew Romeo’s temperament made him a perfect fit. He nearly completed the program, but unfortunately the organization closed before he could receive his official certification.
Professionally, I started my first summer job at just 14 years old working in the kennels of a local veterinary office right here in Las Vegas. Over the next 15 years, I grew into roles in reception and veterinary medical assisting. Along the way, I also worked part-time with board-and-train facilities and later branched into service dog training, specializing in public access work.
These experiences expanded my knowledge of animal care and behavior while continuing to sharpen my training skills. More importantly, they deepened my passion for helping dogs and owners build successful, lasting relationships.
In recent years, I transitioned out of the veterinary field to pursue other work, but training has always called me back. I continually found myself helping friends, family, and coworkers with new puppies or addressing challenging behaviors in their dogs. That work constantly reminds me of an unfortunate reality: many dogs surrendered to shelters and rescues each year are there because of preventable behavior issues. Too often, those same issues make them harder to rehome and some never find a forever family to call their own.
That is why I created NeonPawz K-9 Academy, to make a difference by training dogs, correcting behaviors, and educating owners so more dogs can stay where they belong: safely at home with the families who love them.
